Silent Killer
Listing Details
Gordon Stone is a gifted investigator who works for the Food and Drug Administration. When he unexpectedly finds himself detailed to the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, he is assigned what is believed to be an insignificant case—a straightforward charity scam out of Africa. Gordon is ordered to do a quick interview and close the case. But for Gordon, it’s not that simple.
Gordon has high-functioning autism. While on occasion, he can be socially awkward, his autism also provides him with a superpower—extraordinary focus and attention to detail that allows him to see what no one else can see. In this throwaway investigation, Gordon uncovers information indicating this case is more than a simple charity scam. But the FBI remains convinced the case is nothing and repeatedly orders Gordon to stand down.
Instead, Gordon goes rogue. He pieces together a disparate puzzle: a Hunter-Killer drone; an illicit drug shipment; a Special Forces operation gone wrong; and illegal immigration linked to an organization with ties to 9/11. When the pieces finally align, it becomes clear the case is in fact a high-profile national security investigation, with hundreds of lives hanging in the balance.
