It started with a wrong number.   Quick!  Reply! Becky said
I should’ve deleted it. Instead, I replied.

Jack Reid was all fire and fury. He was bold, gruff, and unexpectedly funny.

In the ER, the call said an incoming firefighter was in critical condition. I knew it was Jack before I saw him.  

Now he’s broken. Bruised. And doesn’t remember I exist.
Worse? His ex is by his side, calling herself his fiancée.
